In the nearly 30 years that the Rotary Club of Wilmette Harbor has been a part of the greater Wilmette community, we’ve square danced, wine tasted, sold fruit, and grilled bratwurst to raise funds for local, regional and international charities. Many of you may have attended our Fresh Market events in previous years and bought our wine, salmon and chocolates during the holidays. This year for our spring fundraiser we are no longer able to use Fresh Market and we have temporarily lost our meeting place at Sheridan Shore Yacht Club – so though we are nomadic, we continue to raise funds for the organizations that rely on us.
Alliance for the Great Lakes; Boys Hope, Girls Hope; Erika’s Lighthouse; Haven Youth and Family Svcs; Meals at Home; Connections for the Homeless; Orchard Village; Family Service Center.
In addition, we participate with Rotary Clubs around the world in eradicating polio. Our service work includes hosting quarterly soup kitchens in Evanston, participating in packing supplies for Kids Against Hunger and collecting for the local New Trier Township food pantry.
